Dracula

I showed up at the shelter with a big gash under my arm. No one knows what happened but it really needed to be fixed. So the rescue got me the surgery I needed and soon the home I needed too. Plus since my new brother is named Oscar I get to keep the name Dracula.. because now I am the count.

Dominic

Are you talking to me?! No it isnt a threat.. see I am deaf and no one bothered to teach me anything but just let me run wild. My prospects at the shelter were looking to good but then my foster mom decided she needed a challenge and boy did I give her a challenge. I learned so much once I understood her and I became the best boy ever. I am a northener now as I live in Penn. but it doesnt matter I cant hear them either.

Ditto

My sister died from a terrible respitory disease and I had it too. No one really knows why I made it and she didnt but the thought is because she caught it first they knew what to look for with me. We both stayed at the vets office for a long time and we got to see each other as much as we could but.. well I made it and that is what is important. It was so important that a wonderful family had their eye on me while I was getting better and once I was completely healthy I went to their house and guess what!? They had a black lab just like me. So I am not lonely anymore and will never be.

Dixon
Dixon

A call came in about a young dog with a broken jaw. We went to see him and he just sat there and wagged his tail. It took many weeks but Dixon was finally on the mend. He was such a good puppy. He never complained or whined. He went through each surgery and hospitalization like it was something new and exciting. Each new jaw brace was custom designed just for him. The first week he got his brace off everyone in the rescue wanted a kiss. We were all thrilled. We werent sure if Dixon's foster family would let him go but when the perfect application came in everything fell into place. Though there were tons of tears and she still talks about Dixon. But we know he is a happy boy and in the family where he belongs.

Duke & Carolina
Duke & Carolina

Duke and Carolina were a packaged deal. Both had traveled together from out west to be abandoned at the shelter. Carolina's ears were so bad that she needed surgery immediately. They were the most loving funny little dogs. Though we received many applications to split them up we just couldnt do that to them. Then finally the day arrived when an application for both of them came in from the perfect couple! Of course their names have been changed because Duke and Carolina could never live together in a home :)
